Katrina Kaif has high hopes for alleged beau Ranbir Kapoor’s next film, Tamasha and she knows that after a few ups and downs, he is going to bounce back with a bang.

When asked in an interview about Ranbir’s rough phase in Bollywood, Katrina said she believes in him and is sure that he would bounce back. She was quoted saying, “For an actor, it’s painful when your films aren't doing well. Every actor must go through a phase of ups and downs, because only then will you appreciate what you have. It helps you become a stronger person. I know Ranbir loves his fans and he breathes, lives cinema. No one can challenge that passion and commitment. These ups and downs have happened in almost every star's life, be it Shah Rukh, Salman or Aamir.”

She further added, “I have complete confidence and belief that Tamasha will do extremely well and Ranbir will be amazing in it. I wish the team a lot of success and I am quite sure Ranbir will be back with a bang with this film.”

Well! Just like you Kat, all Ranbiroholics are pretty sure about that! Haina?

Katrina: Private person like Aditya Chopra may hide their engagement, but Ranbir and I won’t!

Before you assume it as a dig, read the whole story!

Rumors and conjectures of Katrina and Ranbir’s marriage are doing rounds since…like eternity, maybe. But the lovebirds have time and again maintained that they are not engaged. Katrina revealed that her marriage would be a big event and right now there is no marriage on the cards.

In a recent interview Kat said, “It's a little difficult for me to understand that why would anyone try to hide their engagement or a wonderful thing such as marriage. Nobody will do that, unless the person is extremely private, like Mr. Aditya Chopra may. Like I don't know when he got engaged. But that's not me or Ranbir.”

“What is marriage after all? Beyond all the rituals, it’s a celebration of two people coming together. So, a celebration won't be a secret. I definitely want my wedding to be a big event. There is so no doubt about it. It’s just not happening now. And I don't understand why people get so excited about an actor's wedding or why do they want a woman to get married off quickly? Are we trying to say that every woman's destiny is only to get married? I am tired of saying the same thing, but still, there will be false reports of us getting married. It’s weird!” added Katrina.

I'm a decent football player: Ranbir

Actor Ranbir Kapoor, also co-owner of Mumbai City FC,likes to believe that he can play football well.

"I always believed that I am a decent football player. I used to show off that I know football and I own a team. But you get a reality check when you play with these guys. What you see on TV is different.

"It may seem really simple, but when you play with them, you understand the kind of discipline, respect, talent these people have. I feel honoured and gratitude that I got to share the field with them," said Ranbir.

The "Barfi!" star has been spotted with his team. But he says he doesn't train with them.

"No, I don't train with the boys. I had just played one game," said Ranbir.

Although his team didn't perform well last year, he is confident it will do better this season.

"I never felt the failure, of course a lot of my movies have not done well. My last one being a huge disaster. But the kind of feeling I got after the last season was bigger than that. I think sports make you face that. When you support a team and your team does not come through, you feel dejected," said the "Bombay Velvet" actor.

"Positivity is absolutely critical. It is important. We have four great superstars which the team players can look up to, we have budding superstars. I think all those involved in the team, the football club, the fans and everyone expect respect, humility, hard work, discipline, passion and most important victory. This year I think we will get it all," said Ranbir.

I should be criticized if my film doesn't work: Ranbir

Ranbir Kapoor, who gave two duds "Roy" and "Bombay Velvet" back-to-back this year, says actors deserve to be criticized if the movies don't work at the box office.

"I think an actor is given a lot of credit when the film is a hit. When my films do well, I'm showered with love and appreciation. So, when my film does not do well, the criticism should be for me," Ranbir said at the Puma home kit launch for Mumbai City FC, which he co-owns.

"I should be criticized because it (the movie) was my choice, I worked in it, the audience showed faith in me and came to see the movie, and when they don't like it, the result should be for me," he added.

His team didn't perform well last season, Ranbir took it graciously.

"It is necessary for an actor or a sportsman to graciously accept both loss and success. Humility and goodness are very important. They are an actor's virtue," he said.

Speaking about his collegues and co-players, he said: "Many people from the (film) industry play football...Abhishek Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Dino Morea, to name a few".

"In my humble opinion, I am the best player in the industry. I have heard Shah Rukh Khan plays good football, even John Abraham was a school captain. I have not played with them but yes, amongst those playing now, I am the best."

In keeping with the season, 'The Gentlemen's Club' collection is a festive fusion of Indian and western couture, focusing on shades of emerald green and adorned with botanical motifs,” said Manish earlier.

Kapoor Jr was in his elements after walking the ramp yesterday for celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhotra on the first day of the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW). So when would the audience get to see him next on the big screen, and Ranbir was spontaneous in his response, “In my last three films (meaning disasters like Besharam, Bombay Velvet and Roy) the audience definitely did not want to see me.” Interestingly, he wore a maroon ‘Velvet’ suit for the show which he mentioned categorically and pointed it out to everybody. Ranbir continued, “Well, next they will see me on November 27 with the release of Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha. Promos and songs will be out soon and hope people like it. I'm praying hard for the same."

Denying reports that the trailer of Tamasha (with his ex-flame Deepika Padukone) will be released on his 33rd birthday, on September 28, Ranbir clarified, “The trailer will be unveiled on September 21st or 22nd and not on my birthday.” And he further chose to add, “By the way I share my birthday with Lata Mangeshkarji and Bhagat Singh.” Ranbir informed that he will shortly leave for London to shoot for Karan Johar’s next directorial outing, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil – a love triangle that comprises a stellar cast headed by RK, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma. After this, the actor said, he will begin shooting Ayan Mukherji's flick where he is set to play a superhero.

Katrina Kaif, who is forever questioned about her marriage to Ranbir Kapoor, feels it is not right to always ask female actors about marriage instead of their work.

In an interaction with Hindustan Times, Katrina spoke about gender equality saying, “We are in an age where we debate about equality of pay. I feel if we do have to bring gender equality, we cannot obsess about a woman's marital status and ignore her work. I do understand you too are under pressure to ask such questions, but I feel you can choose not to ask. Let’s just not ask the question. I'm here in the capacity of an actor and it’s a professional setup. We can just avoid asking the question. Let's say if you are at a chat show, that's where you chat about life and stuff."

Well said Ms Katrina!

Katrina Kaif and Saif Ali Khan will be seen in Kabir Khan’s ‘Phantom’, which releases tomorrow, August 28.

While promoting Phantom on India Today Television, Katrina came prepared with a well-thought comeback to the marriage question. And when she was asked that, she quipped, “As I was presuming what question you were going to ask me and you did ask me, I was thinking I would come up with a very good answer for this. I will get married once I win the National Award."

"Even if the film wins a National Award, and not I personally, still I would get settled down,” she added.

She also said that life beyond cinema is not on her or Ranbir’s mind at the moment and she wants to concentrate on her career. She wishes to attain stability by doing better roles and better films.

Well! That was some riposte, Kat! What say guys?

No contemporary hero except him has got the style, says Ranbir Kapoor

The Kapoor scion has always come across as a humble man. We have often heard modest confessions made by the Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor time and again, for instance, ‘I deserve criticism’, ‘I don’t like anything about myself’ and many more. The talented actor has always dismissed the idea of being labelled as one of the hottest stars of Bollywood. But recently, post fashion show of ace designer Manish Malhotra where the star was the showstopper, we got to see the different side of the actor. While he rattled off names of all the top heroines when asked to name an actress he thought was the most stylish, but when asked to name a hero with good fashion sense and style, Kapoor Jr said, “I like my own style, hence I dress up well.”

He continued, “But of course I find Mr Amitabh Bachchan the most stylish of all because whatever he wears, he looks good. Style is not just about clothes, it is also about your personality, one has to have a colourful personality...the way Mr Bachchan walks, the way he talks, his humility, all add up to make him the most stylish person in the industry.”

Further talking about his day-to-day styling, Ranbir said, “When we actors leave home, photographers take our pictures and then there are several comments, opinions and judgment about our look, hair, clothes...so we have to take care about that. If I find my hair messy, I wear a cap when I go out; if there are dark circles under my eye, I wear glares, and then there are the make-up artists who do a lot of work on us. You will usually see me wearing jeans, T-shirt and sneakers. I take lot of efforts to turn out well so that people don’t give me gaalis.”

And when Ranbir was once again asked to name a contemporary hero with the best dressing style, the actor replied, “Koi nahi hai”(There’s nobody).

Surprising, eh?

Katrina Kaif denies re-shooting 'Jagga Jasoos'!

Recently, there were reports that Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif's 'Jagga Jasoos' has been delayed since certain portions of the film are being re-shot. However, Katrina has denied the news.

In an interview to PTI, the actress said, "No we didn’t re-shoot anything… I wish… Because if we were re-shooting we would at least be shooting something. A very large portion of the film is complete but there are some slightly complex sequences which are left. It’s a very brave film. We have tried a lot of new things in the film and to do that I think it takes time."

The comedy-drama, which tells the story of a young detective, who is in search of his father, is directed by Anurag Basu and was slated to release last year. However, due to delay, the movie will now hit the theatres only next year.

“Anurag Basu is one of those directors who doesn’t live under the pressure of time or restrictions which all of us abide by in the film industry. He is like a true wandering artist. He wants to make the movie according to his time and he is not going to put under pressure by anyone. He just wants to live with his script, nurture and blossom it. I have got a lot of respect for that because you can see his passion for films. He is a very indulgent filmmaker,” says Kaif.
